The authors of this book believe in the philosophy of ‘KEEPING IT SIMPLE’ to achieve the best
results after total knee arthroplasty (TKA). While doing TKA of any level of complexity, one
needs to divide the whole surgery into exposure, femoral cuts, tibial cut and ligament
balancing. If each step is executed with reasonable accuracy, the surgeon can expect a satisfied
patient with long term implant survival.
The chapters of the book take the readers through
various scenarios the surgeon might face in practice. The high light of the book is the
practical key points given in each chapter. These points guide the readers to execute each step
of surgery with perfection. The surgical images provided in this book will help surgeons to
counter check all decisions taken during surgery, to remain on the correct path.
The authors
have given practical answers to questions that come in the minds of surgeons on the operation
table. This book is useful for the surgeons, not only in the library but in the operation
theatre (OT) lounge for a quick reassuring glance, so that doing TKA becomes a pleasure.
